  • Soft Medical-Grade Silicone: The cup is made of 100% biocompatible medical-grade silicone, which makes it completely safe for insertion.
  • Rash-Free, Itch-Free, Odour-Free: The cup doesn't cause any rashes or irritation. It's also odour-free.
  • Size Exchange Guarantee: This cup comes with a Size Exchange Guarantee, meaning you can get it replaced free of charge if it's not the right size for you.
  • 3 Sizes: It is available in 3 sizes. Small size menstrual cup is for teenagers. Medium size menstrual cup is for those who haven't given birth or have medium to heavy flow. Large size menstrual cup is for those who have given birth or have extra-heavy flow.
  • 8-10 Hours of No-Leak Comfort: Swim, dance, exercise; do whatever you want to do. The menstrual cup allows you to forget that you're on your period, with no worry of leaks.
  • Economical: An extremely cost-effective option, a menstrual cup can last you for 10 years (though we recommend switching to a new one every 3-5 years). So, you don't have to worry about buying period supplies month-on-month.
  • Sustainable: A menstrual cup is the most eco-friendly option available. Since it's reusable & lasts for years, it saves the waste generated from disposing sanitary pads & tampons.

Carmesi Menstrual Cup is made up of 100% Biocompatible Medical-Grade Silicone

  • Step 1. Sterilize the Cup at the Start of Each Cycle: When you begin your period, disinfect the cup by boiling it in water for about 7 mins. This is a very important step to ensure that your cup is completely germ-free before it goes into your body.
  • Step 2. Wash Your Hands Before Touching the Cup: Make sure that your hands are washed with soap and water before you touch the cup to prevent contaminating it.
  • Step 3. Blow on the Vacuum Holes: Before insertion, ensure that the tiny holes near the rim are not blocked by water or any bodily residue. If the air holes are blocked, the vacuum will not form properly and may lead to slippage or leaks.
  • Step 4. Use any of the Folds: The most popular fold is the C-fold, followed by the punch down fold. But, you can use any that suits you. Check here for more fold options https://mycarmesi.com/blogs/f/how-to-fold-menstrual-cups-in-5-different-ways. The ultimate goal is to insert it easily and get it to open inside.
  • Step 5. Insertion: Relax your body and spread your legs wide. You can also try raising one leg and placing it on the toilet seat. Now, gently separate the opening of your vagina with your fingers. Insert the cup inside and push it upwards towards the base of your spine. Twist the cup so it opens up and forms a seal inside the vaginal opening.
  • Step 6. Check if it Has Opened: If the cup has been properly placed, it will pop open. Insert a finger to check for folds that indicate that it’s not opened fully. In that case, pinch the base of the cup and turn it inside a couple of times to ensure that it has popped open. If it still does not, pinch the base and pull a little or up to half of the cup outside. This will make it automatically open, after which you can push or suck it back in. A fully open cup will automatically form a vacuum seal which will guard against leakage.
  • Step 7. Empty it in Time: The menstrual cup can be left inside for up to 10-12 hours if your flow is not heavy. On heavy flow days, empty and reinsert the cup at least 3 times to make sure it does not overflow and leak.
  • Step 8. Removing the Cup: After washing your hands, assume a comfortable position (preferably squatting). Using your thumb and index finger, try pinching the base of the cup to release the suction. If you can’t reach the base, pull it by the stem first and then pinch. If the cup goes in deeper than expected, use your vaginal muscles to push it down and then try reaching it. Once you have released the seal, pull the cup out using the same two fingers and try to keep it upright throughout to avoid spillage.
  • Step 9. Empty and Wash the Cup: Ideally, you should empty the menstrual cup into the toilet bowl, but if you don’t have access to one when you are emptying, pour the content directly into a drain or the bathroom sink. After it’s empty, wash it thoroughly with water, make sure there are no clots left in the cup.
  • Step 10. Reinsert It: On normal days of your period, after emptying the cup and washing it, reinsert it back using the same folding and releasing method.
  • Step 11. Sterilize It: At the end of your cycle, clean the menstrual cup and sterilize it again before putting it away for your next period.
